Slope, m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

We have, A (3,1) and B(5,-1)

So, x1 = 3 and y1 = 1

x2 = 5 and y2 = -1

Putting values in formula,  we get

m = (-1-1)/5-3

= -2/2

= -1

 

Thus, slope of line AB is -1
