Lets try to remove the brackets in order to make it easier for us. If there is no sign or a + sign in front of the bracket then we can remove the brackets without changing anything inside. If there is a - sign in front of the bracket, every number or variable will switch its sign, from a - to a + and vice versa. If we remove the brackets we will have this result:
4-5-13+18-2=
-1-13+18-2=
-14+18-2=
4-2=
