Let Ms. Match had $ x money

Now, she spent half half of that and $10 in store 1

So, x - (x/2 + 10)

=( 2x - x - 20)/2

=( x - 20)/2

Now, she spent half the money left (x - 20)/4 and $10. Then, she had no money left . It can be represented as

(x - 20)/2 - [(x - 20)/4 + 10)] = 0

(x - 20)/2 - [(x - 20 + 40)/4] = 0

(x - 20)/2 - x + 20 - 40)/4= 0

(2x - 40 - x - 20)/4 = 0

x - 60 = 0

x = 60

Thus, Ms. Match had $60 at the start.
