Given:

Original price $1195

Current Price $2075

Determine the percent increase.

Solution:

In order to determine the percent increase we must first subtract the original price to the current price.

= $2075 - $1195

=$880

Now we know that $880 was added to the original price. Now we need to determine what percentage of 1195 is 880. In order to do so we divide 880 by 1195

= 880/1195

= 0. 736

We need to convert the decimal into percentage, that can be done by multiplying the decimal by 100, hence in converting a percentage into decimal we divide by 100.

=( 0.736)(100)

= 73.6% or 74%

Therefore the Original price was increased by 74%.
