In order to easily answer the problem, we will take 3 away from 43, leaving behind 40, 3 tomatoes are left over from the total of 43 tomatoes.
Now that we have 40, we can easily determine the number of groups that were made.
= 40 /5
= 8 groups
8 groups were made containing 5 tomato each, and there is a left over of 3 tomatoes.
