Let cost of a chicken be x

And, cost of a duck be y

Then, according to question

50x + 30y = 550 .…1

44x + 36y = 532 ….2

Using elimination method :

Multiplying equation 1 by 6 and equation 2 by 5, we get

300x + 180y = 3300 ….3

220x + 180y = 2660 ….4

Subtracting equation 4 from 3, we get

300x + 180y - 220x - 180y = 3300 - 2660

80x = 640

x = 8

Now, putting value of x in equation 1, we get

50 × 8 + 30y = 550

400 + 30y = 550

30y = 550 - 400

30y = 150

y = 150/30

y = 5
