In a class of 100, every boy had 2 girlfriends, but no girl had more than 1 boyfriend. If exactly 13 girls had no boyfriend, then how many students in the class were girls? The answer is 71 but i dont know how to get 71?

Total students = 100

Girls that has no boyfriend = 13

So, remaining students = 100 - 13

= 87

Let the number of boys be x

Then, according to question number of girls that has boyfriend be 2x

So, x + 2x = 87

3x = 87

x = 87/3

x = 29

So, number of girls = 2x + 13

= 2(29) + 13

= 58 + 13

= 71
