In dividing two fractions, we must take the reciprocal of the denominator and multiply it with numerator. When we say reciprocal it refers to the inverse or opposite value of the fraction,

ExampleS:

Reciprocal of 4/5 = 5/4

Reciprocal of 10/7 = 7/10

To divide two fractions, we refer to the example below,

Examples:

½ / ⅓

= (½)(3/1)

=3/2

Notice that we take the reciprocal of ⅓ which is located in the denominator, then multiply it to the numerator.

5/20 / 50/2

= (5/20)(2/50)

= 10/1000

= 1/100
