In order to convert feet to inches, we must take note the equivalent measurements of feet to inches.
1 feet = 12 inches
Since 1 feet is equal to 12 inches, we multiply the value of feet by 12, to determine it's value in inches, hence if given the value in inches, we divide it by 12 in order to get its value in feet.
