In order to convert decimals to fractions, we equate the decimals as a whole number, removing the decimal point, and we divide the decimal by the least place value that it has. This means that if the place value of the decimal is tenths, we divide by 10, hundredths, we divide by 100, thousandths, we divide by 1000, and so on.
Example:
0.35
= 35/100
Factor out 5 from the equation in order to determine its lowest term.
