Gina is having a party and wants to spend less that $380. She has already spent $300. The only item left on her list is pizzas, which cost $10 each. How many pizzas, x, can she purchase and stay under her budget? Select the inequality that includes the largest number of pizzas she can purchase and still stay under her budget.

Given :

total < 380

Let number of pizzas be x

Total = 300 + 10x

she already spent 300, and each pizza costs 10 each. So,

300 + 10x < 380

Subtracting 300 from both sides, we get

300 + 10x -300 < 380 - 300

10x < 80

x < 8

Hence, she can buy 7 pizzas as she wants to spend less than $380.
