Fossils give clues about d. all of these

The climate of the past can be determined by the fossils of the organisms that are found in the area. Paleontologists often determine the type of environment that these fossils lived before by basing it on the composition of the fossil, whether it is affected by a hot temperature, or it thrives in a cold region. Hence, the region's geologic history is also determined by the fossils since it shows what kind of organisms lived in the area millions of years ago. This also gave proof to the continental drift theory by Alfred Wegener, since the same fossils are found from different continents. For the age of a rock layer, it can be estimated by also determining the age of the fossil.
