Gene is a function of DNA or it is a structure which code for trait , basically physical and functional unit of heredity. Genes are made up of DNA. Some genes act as instructions to make molecules called proteins, while Chromosome is a most condensed form of DNA (Chromosomes are structures found in the nucleus of cells that carry long pieces of DNA) .DNA is the material that holds genes. It is the building block of the human body. Chromosomes also contain proteins that help DNA exist in the proper form.
