Let the original price of monitor be  x

Then, according to question

x/2 + 65 = 325

Subtracting 65 from both sides, we get

x/2 + 65 - 65 = 325 - 65

x/2 = 260

Cross-Multiplying,  we get

x = 260 × 2

x = 520

Thus, original cost monitor is $520
