In the Spanish test she scored 27/32 and in the French she scored 19/21. To make things easier for comparison, convert the results into percentages like as seen below.
Spanish = 27/32 x 100 = 84.375%
French = 19/21 x 100 = 90.47%
Claire scored 6.095% higher in her French test than in her Spanish test. Alternatively, you could convert each fraction into the same denominator and compare via the results of that (this is through HCF), OR you could just state that she lost 5 marks in Spanish, and 3 in French.
