Let daughter's age be x yrs

Then, mother's age is 3x yrs

Daughter's age after 9 years = (x+9) yrs

Mother's age after 9 years = 3x + 9

Then, according to question mother is 2 times as old as daughter after 9 years. So,

(x + 9)/(3x + 9) = 1/2

Cross-Multiplying, we get

3x + 9 = 2x + 18

3x - 2x = 18 - 9

x = 9

So, mother's age now = 3 × 9

= 27 years
