Formula Used : v^2 = u^2 + 2as
Where, v = final velocity
u = initial velocity
a = acceleration
s = displacement
We have, s = 8 m and we know, a = 9.8 m/s^2 , body is at rest so initial velocity is 0
Now, putting values in formula, we get
v^2 = (0)^2 + 2(9.8)(8)
v^2 = 0 + 156.8
v^2 = 156.8
v = √156.8
v = 12.52 m/s
Thus, final velocity is 12.52 m/s.
