given that:-  area of each square= 14 sq. cm

now area of square= side^2

14=side^2

side=root of 14

side =3.7 cm

one side of checkers board= 8*3.7= 29.6 cm

Perimeter (P) =4 (length of side a)

                          =4*29.6

                          =118.4 cm

Therefor we get the perimeter of the checker board  118.4 cm.
