We have, √(5-2x) - √(2-x) = 1

squaring both sides, we get

[√(5-2x) - √(2-x)]^2= 1^2

5-2x - (2-x) = 1

5 - 2x - 2 + x =1

3 -x = 1

Transposing -x to other side, we get

x + 1 =3

Transposing 1to other side, we get

x = 3-1

x =2

Thus, the value of x is 2.
