Lets do the multiplications first to try and remove the brackets that we have.
0.30*18=5.4
0.15(24+x)=3.6+0.15x
Now we can write it this way:
5.4+0.05x = 3.6+0.15x
Lets put the variables on one side and the numbers on the other side. Every variable or number that will change signs, will have their sign changed from a + into a - and vice versa.
0.15x-0.05x=5.4-3.6
0.1x=1.8
Divide both sides with 0.1
0.1x/0.1 = 1.8/0.1
x=18
