Lets multiply the number 3 with (x-4) and number -2 with (x-3).

3(x-4)= 3*x-3*4

=3x-12

-2(x-3)=-2*x-2*(-3)=

=-2x+6

Now we have:

3x-12=12-2x+6

Lets put the variables on one side and the numbers on the other side. Every variable or number that will change sides, will have their sign changed from a + into a - and vice versa.

3x+2x=12+6+12

5x=30

Divide both sides with 5.

5x/5 = 30/5

x=6
