In order to solve this equation, firstly we will multiply 3 with the digits inside the bracket. The sign will not change because 3 is a positive number larger than 0.

So we will have:

3x+15=x+19

Lets put unknown values of x on one side and the numbers on the other side of the equation. The numbers and x-s that will change sides, will have their sign changed from + to - and vice versa.

3x-x=19-15

2x=4

Divide both sides with 2.

2x/2 = 4/2

x=2
