Torque= force × perpendicular distance

T = F× r.

Given,

T = 30 N.m

r = 1.5 m

F = ?

T = Fr

30 N.m = F  × (1.5 m)

Divide both sides of the equation by 1.5 m, we have:

30/1.5= F× 1.5/ 1.5

F= 20 N ( force is needed to cause the  amount of torque )
