We have our unknown variable d and we need to find out based on the equation.

First thing that we will do is we will put our variables on one side of the equation and the numbers on other side. Each variable or number that will change sides, will have its sign switched from a + into a - and vice versa.

3.2d+6d=51.39-16.75+4

9.2d = 38.64

Divide both sides with 9.2

9.2d/9.2 = 38.64/9.2

d = 4.2
